ENThe combinations of adjective words with verbs tapti, daryti, skirti, pripažinti, paskelbti [Engl. to become, to do, to appoint, to acknowledge, to announce] are analyzed in the article. This analysis is presently very relevant because a decade has passed since the main standard work - "Language Advice" - was released. The goal of the article is to determine how much the norms provided comply with real usage. The results of the research of real usage shows the trends of use of combinations of the adjective instrumental with verbs tapti, daryti [engl. to become, to do] (the state instrumental should not be provided with them) are different - the nonstandard instrumental is used in combination with verb tapti [engl. become] more and more often, and the standard variant is dominant with verb daryti [Engl. to do]. Real usage shows the adjective instrumental, which is presently evaluated as one to be avoided, is used in combination with verb skirti [Engl. to appoint] as many as 2.4 times more often than accusative. Similar results were also obtained after researching the adjective combinations with verbs skelbti ir pripažinti [Engl. to announce and to acknowledge]. Real usage shows the adjective instrumental is the most frequent one for the expression of the state in these combinations. Thus, the research performed shows that the usage of expression of state with verbs skirti, skelbti ir pripažinti [Engl. to appoint, to acknowledge, and to announce] does not comply with the fixed standards.
