ENThe article presents the vocabulary of Lithuanian Punskas dialect. The author relies mainly on the material collected in 1988 for her master’s thesis. The most extensive part of the article is a dictionary containing dialect words of Baltic origin which are not used in the official Lithuanian language or have a different form. The analysis distinguishes several types of dialect words: 1. lexical (eg. ‘avinčiena’ mutton, ‘baubėti’ freeze, ‘gronioti’ seek, ‘liūliukas’ little insect); 2. morphological (eg. ‘apgalėc’ win, ‘grėblykščis’ handle of rake, ‘likinys’ remains); 3. phonetic (eg. ‘bumburas’ bud, ‘dzirgelė’ nettle, ‘tus’ that); 4. accentuation (eg. ‘bažnyča’ church, ‘lietuvys’ Lithuanian); and 5. semantic (eg. ‘apsišokti’ do the job, ‘bernauti’ to be a bachelor, ‘skruostas’ eyebrow). The most numerous, however, are the groups of lexical, semantic and morphological dialect words.
