Summary / Abstract:

LT1990 m. atgavus Nepriklausomybę, Lietuvos švietimo sistemoje tautinių mažumų istorija ir paveldas tapo vienu iš svarbiausių klausimų. Viena vertus, šis tyrimas padeda suprasti netolerantiškos atmosferos daugiakultūrėje visuomenėje šaknis, kita vertus, parodo pagrindinius su tautinėmis mažumomis susijusius stereotipus ir įvaizdžius. Tyrimo metu aptarta tautinių mažumų vieta istorijos didaktikoje, nagrinėti istorijos (32) ir literatūros (16) vadovėliai. Darbo tikslas – išsiaiškinti, kaip pristatoma tautinių mažumų kultūra lietuviškose mokyklose, kiek dėmesio bendrajame Lietuvos istorijos kontekste skiriama tautinių mažumų klausimams. Pagrindinė tautinių mažumų pristatymo istorijos vadovėlyje tendencija – jų istorija tarsi atskiriama nuo Lietuvos istorijos konteksto. Tautinių mažumų istorija dažniausiai nagrinėjama Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės (XIV-XVII a.), XIX a. antrosios pusės ir tarpukario Lietuvos Respublikos laikotarpiais.Skurdžiausiai tautinės mažumos pristatomos XX a. ENThe history and heritage of the ethnic minorities as presented in the Lithuanian educational system after the state of Lithuania regained its independence in 1990 is an important issue. On the one hand, that presentation helps to understand the roots of the intolerant atmosphere in multicultural society, and, on the other hand, it show the main stereotypes and images of the ethnic minorities in the eyes of society. The research contains a discussion about the place of ethnic minorities in the didactics of history, the analysis of history (32) and literature (16) textbooks. The main aim of the research is to discover the ways in which the culture of ethnic minorities is represented in Lithuanian schools and how much attention is allocated to the issue of ethnic minorities in the context of the common history of Lithuania. The main trend in representing ethnic minorities in history textbooks is to recount their history separately from the history of major ethnic Lithuania. The most frequent periods of history in which ethnic minorities are reflected are the 14th-17th centuries of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the second half of the 19th century and the Republic of Lithuania between the First and the Second World Wars. There is a lack of information about ethnic minorities in the period from the second half of the 20th century to present day which creates a wrong illusion that ethnic minorities are but a relict of the past. Textbooks of literature show even less interest in the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, except for some rare examples of Jewish and Polish authors. These perspectives of representation do not correlate well with the idea of showing the link between the past and the present which is highly recommended by educational programs. The analysis of all mentioned factors demonstrated the significance of specific textbooks in forming the historical consciousness of school students. However, it is clear that such factors as mass media, the heterogeneity of a living area and contact with ethnic minorities on a daily basis are very significant as well. The analysis of history books suggested that it is possible to present the history of ethnic minorities in various ways. Unfortunately, a strict following of the program for national history exams makes such ways of presentation rare. The main attention is directed to Jewish history and culture (especially, the Holocaust) while the other ethnic minorities are pushed to the margins of the history of Lithuania.
