Renewal of the Congregation of Marian Fathers
LTStraipsnyje aprašomi marijonų ordino atnaujinimo darbai, atlikti palaimintojo Jurgio Matulaičio (1909). Palaimintasis Jurgis giliai tikėjo religinio gyvenimo ir atsidavimo bažnyčiai verte. Jis siekė eiti tobulesniu kunigo pašaukimo keliu, kuriuo vedė palaimintojo Honorato Koźmińskio vadovaujama kunigų asociacija. Globojamas Šventosios Dvasios pal. Jurgis atnaujino marijonų ordiną (1909), parengė jo įstatus ir organizavo ordino gyvenimą, įsteigdamas marijonų vienuolijas Lietuvoje, Lenkijoje, Latvijoje ir Baltarusijoje. Pal. Jurgis su didele pagarba žvelgė į savo Kongregacijos narius ir dvasininkiją. Jo mirties metu Kongregacija turėjo 319 narių, apėmė 13 vienuolijų, aštuonias parapijas, septynias mokyklas, globos namus, našlaičių namus, leido keletą žurnalų.
ENThe author describes the work of renewal of the Marian Order, performed by Blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz (1909). Blessed George was deeply convinced of the great value of religious life for the Church. He wished to lead a more perfect life of priestly vocation, which was possible to fulfill in the Association of Priests presided over by Blessed Honorat Koźmiński. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Blessed George carried out the renewal of the Marian Order (1909), composed its Constitutions, and organized the Order’s life, establishing Marian houses in Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, and Belarus. Blessed George celebrated with great respect the members of his Congregation and the diocesan clergy. At the time of his death, the Congregation numbered 319 men, included 13 religious houses, ran eight parishes, seven schools, a nursing home, an orphanage, and published several magazines.
