LTŠiame straipsnyje pristatyta šventų asmeninių daiktų - pašventintos žvakės ir šv. Agotos duonos - reikšmė lenkų kilmės Vilniaus regiono gyventojams. Taip pat autoriai svarsto likimo ir tikėjimų, susijusių su antgamtinėmis jėgomis, įtaką žmogaus gyvenimui. Sis tekstas - tai etnografinio tyrimo rezultatas, kuris buvo atliktas Senuose Trakuose ir jų apylinkėse. Tyrimas palietė tautinių tikėjimų temą, taip pat bandyta atskleisti šventų dalykų panaudojimą praktinėje magijoje. Giliai įsišaknijęs tikėjimas į stiprią antgamtinių galių intervenciją skatina įvairaus tipo tikėjimų bei praktinės magijos paplitimą ir išlikimą. Tai galime pastebėti pavyzdžiuose iš tikėjimo sferos, kur magija ir religija persipina. Taip pat išryškėjo akivaizdus naujų elementų įjungimas į tradicijas. Vilniaus regione vyraujantys tikėjimai dar nelaikomi užmirštais dalykais - visuomenė dažnai jiems suteikia naują reikšmę ir prasmę. Tikėjimo pavyzdžiai, susiję su šv. Agotos duona ar pašventinta žvake, parodo išblukusią ribą tarp pagoniškų ir krikščioniškų elementų. Šventa daiktų galia sukuria sakralią aplinką, saugo nuo blogio, jungia žemišką pasaulį su antgamtiniu.

ENThis article presents the importance of personal sacred objects such as holy candles (gromnica), St. Agatas bread (chleb św. Agaty) for the local polish population in the district of Vilnius (Wileńszczyzna). Authors also reflect on the issue of destiny of life and beliefs conected with the supernatural influence on human life. The text is the result of ethnographic field research in Old Trakai (Stare Troki) the surrounding area. Main topics were the beliefs as well as sacred objects used in magical practices. Deeply rooted belief in the power of supernatural intervention conttibutes to the prevalence and survival of various types of magical beliefs and practices. In the realm of belief can be seen on the example of the mix magic and religion, but also to include new elements to tradition. Beliefs present in disttict of Vilnius (Wilenszczyzna) are not relict, people often give them new meaning. For example, the belief in the power of holy bread (chleb św. Agaty) show how not clear is the border between the elements of pagan and christian beliefs of the local population in district of Vilnius (Wilenszczyzna). Sacred objects' power makes the environment, protects and defends against evil, connects the everyday world with the super nature.
