Change in the concepts of the relation between an individual and the regime in Lithuanian sovietology

LTAptardami individo santykį su sovietiniu režimu nusakančias sąvokas Lietuvos akademinėje ir viešojoje erdvėje, turime nagrinėti ne tik sovietmetį ir jo istoriografiją, bet taip pat posovietinės Lietuvos visuomenę bei jos pokyčius. Sunku pasakyti, apie ką tokie tyrimai papasakoja daugiau – apie sovietmetį ar dabartį. Sovietinio laikmečio suvokimo istorija yra pastangų suprasti (labai dažnai ir sąmoningai ar nesąmoningai pateisinti) save sovietmečiu istorija. Dažniausiai tokios pastangos būdingos žmonėms, kuriems teko gyventi okupacinių jėgų valdymo laikotarpiu. Šiame straipsnyje ieškoma atsakymų į du klausimus. Pirma, kaip sovietmečio santykis tarp individo ir režimo yra analizuojamas ir apibrėžiamas posovietinėje istoriografijoje ir kituose darbuose? Antra, kaip ir kodėl šio santykio traktavimas keičiasi? Taigi, bandoma atskleisti tiek sovietinio laikotarpio situacijos traktavimą, tiek požiūrio kaitą lietuviškoje sovietologijoje. Iškeltą tikslą pasiekti geriausiai tinka „pasipriešinimo“, „prisitaikymo“ sąvokų bei joms artimų kategorijų sampratų analizė. Žinoma, daugiausia dėmesio skiriama kultūriniams ir politiniams elitams, kadangi jie ne tik yra daugiausiai tyrinėjami, bet ir kelia aršiausių ginčų. Straipsnyje aptariamos tik pagrindinės individo ir režimo santykio sovietmečiu koncepcijos, analizuojant reikšmingiausius ir geriausius, aktualias tendencijas reprezentuojančius sovietologijos darbus.

ENWhen discussing the concepts that define the relationship of individuals with the Soviet regimen in academic and public space of Lithuania, we must not analyse the Soviet period and its historiography only, but also the post-Soviet Lithuanian society and its changes. It is difficult to say what these studies are about – they are about the Soviet era or the present. The history of the perception of the Soviet period is an attempt to understand (often both consciously and unconsciously) ourselves in the Soviet era. In most cases, such efforts are characteristic to people who have lived during the occupation. This article looks for the answers into two questions. First, how the relationship between an individual and the Soviet regimen has been analysed and defined in post-Soviet historiography and other works? Second, how and why does the approach to this relationship change? Thus, it is attempted to reveal both the approach to the situation in the Soviet period and the change of attitudes in Lithuanian Sovietology. The objectives which had been raised for the research are best reached through the analysis of such concepts as "resistance" and "adaptation" and closed to them categories. Of course, the focus is on cultural and political elite, since they are not only the most explored, but also the most controversial segments. The article discusses only the main concepts of the relationship between the individual and the Soviet regimen and analyses the most significant and the best Sovietology works that represent the most relevant trends.
