Summary / Abstract:

ENOur society knows mathematics only as a language of science, without any independent content. Contrary to such beliefs, modern mathematics is the cognizance of a world of abstracts, based on the accuracy of logical reasoning and a sense of beauty. A conference that took place last year on December 18th at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, titled “The cohesion between arts and sciences and its outlook in Lithuania”, gave the pretext to figure out what this means.
