LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjama pareigos ir atsakomybės samprata, kaip aktualūs šiuolaikinės etikos teorijos klausimai ir kaip šiuolaikinės visuomenės vertybiniai prioritetai šiuolaikinės ugdymo paradigmos raiškoje. Pareigos ir atsakomybės samprata yra siejama su žmogaus teisėmis ir laisvėmis, aiškinama šių visuomenės moralės fenomenų tarpusavio sąsaja. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama atsakomybės samprata egzistencialistinės ir humanistinės asmenybės koncepcijos kontekste. Pateikiama kai kurių priežasčių, lemiančių šiuolaikinės visuomenės atsakomybės stoką, analizė filosofinių įžvalgų kontekste.
ENThe aim of the article is to analyze the issues of duty and responsibility in the context of humanistic ethics. The attention focuses on responsibility. This ethical category defines the relation between a person and his moral duties. Also, this category can describe individual responsibility for a choice a person has made in the decision making process. When a choice is a central feature of a free person, then personal responsibility as an ethical category is directly related to the duties and the concept of freedom. Thus, understanding the phenomenon of responsibility is closely related to the understanding of the phenomenon of duty, right and freedom of an individual and society. The Declaration of Human Duties and Responsibilities was written for reinforcing the implementation of human rights in the interest of the United Nations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This fact approved legal and moral relation between these two important documents and established the fact that respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms is the duty of every member of the society and individual and collective responsibility for compliance with this obligation is the assurance of human freedoms and rights. The primary aim of modern system of education is to help every young person to understand this phenomenon of democratic society and to comprehend the obstacles to become a free and responsible citizen and member of global society. In the author’s opinion, the main obstacles are fear of making individual decisions, misunderstanding of the finality of life and lack of self-criticism.Critical thinking is forming the content of modern system of education as it helps a person to develop individual capabilities for understanding ethical issues of personal and social life and to make their own sovereign decisions. It could be the most effective way to help young people to shape individual worldview and moral attitudes educating individuals as free and responsible persons.
