LTŠiuolaikinė mokymosi samprata siejama su holistine patirtimi, kurią asmuo įgyja per visą savo gyvenimą, nes nei viena atskira ar visos kartu formaliojo švietimo pakopos negali suteikti gebėjimų visam gyvenimui. Todėl švietimo sistema turi būti orientuota į skatinimą ir pagalbą tenkinant įvairialypius mokymosi visą gyvenimą poreikius, būti lanksti, sudaryti galimybes įvertinti, pripažinti ir tobulinti visais mokymosi būdais ir formomis įgytus asmens gebėjimus. Be to, būtini kokybiniai visos švietimo sistemos pokyčiai, lemiantys mokymosi prieinamumą ir kokybės laidavimą ir suteikiantys galimybių asmenims įgyti naujų kompetencijų, tobulinti ar įgyti naują profesinę kvalifikaciją, atsižvelgiant į besimokančiojo tikslus, poreikius ir lūkesčius. Viena iš didžiausių suaugusiųjų mokymosi praktinių problemų yra mokymosi pasiūlos ir paklausos suderinamumas, užtikrinantis besimokantiesiems mokymosi rinkoje prieinamas, tinkamas, asmeninius ir visuomeninius poreikius tenkinančias mokymosi paslaugas, suteikiančias reikalingų, pripažintų ir reikiamus gebėjimus ugdančių žinių.

These are objective requirements that are set up for an individual according to his/her duties. The research revealed that while participating in training courses, the respondents employ their acquired experience and knowledge system. Striving for better addressing of needs and expectations of participants in training courses, organisers of adult training and studies should focus on trainings of applied rather than theoretical type since the majority of learners in such courses have already acquired extensive practical experience in the area of provided studies.
