Šv. Hiacintas - brangus tikėjimo perlas
LTStraipsnis skirtas šv. Hiacinto atminimui. Remiantis istoriniais šaltiniais, šiame darbe aptariama šventojo gyvenimo istorija – studijų metai, įstojimas į dominikonų ordiną ir tolesnė veikla. Šv. Hiacintas – liaudiškai tariant, Jackus – gimė apie 1183 m. Silezijoje. Jis dalyvavo plečiant dominikonų ordiną, į kurio gretas patraukė daugybę vietinių kunigų, garsėjo stebuklais bei ženklais ir nenuilstamai skelbė Dievo žodį. Plečiantis krikščionijos teritorijai, jis padėjo Prūsijoje kurti bažnytinę organizaciją, vyskupijas ir pirmąsias parapijas. Šv. Jackų galima laikyti ir Lietuvos statytoju. Nors nėra istorinių faktų, kurie liudytų, kad Jackus buvo įkėlęs koją į lietuvių žemes ir skelbęs jose Dievo žodį, vis dėlto jo misijų veikla nuo Prūsijos iki Rusios rodo, kad jis stengėsi realizuoti šv. Dominyko norą skelbti Evangeliją Pabaltijo pagonims. Jo artimiausių bendradarbių kontaktai su lietuviais rodo tai, kad jam rūpėjo lietuvių sielos sveikata. Šv. Jackus pasižymėjo artimo meile, skubėjo padėti vargšams ar likimo prispaustiesiems. Jis taip pat pasižymėjo karšta meile ir malda Švč. Mergelei Marijai bei patyrė jos regėjimą. Dar gyvas būdamas dominikonas garsėjo stebuklais, tačiau buvo kanonizuotas tik XVI a. Kultas paplito daugelyje katalikiškos Europos šalių, gyvavo ir mūsų krašte – tai liudija Lietuvos bažnyčiose aptinkami šv. Jackų vaizduojantys paveikslai, skulptūros ir koplytėle Šv. Dvasios bažnyčioje Vilniuje.
ENThis article is dedicated to the memory of St Hyacinth. Based on historical sources, this paper discusses the history of the saint's life - study years, membership in the Dominican Order and further activities. St Hyacinth - or Jackus - was born around 1183 in Silesia. He participated in the expansion of the Dominican Order and talked many local priests into joining it. He tirelessly proclaimed the Word of God and was also known for miracles and signs. As the Christian territory kept expanding, he helped to create a church organization, dioceses and the first parishes in Prussia. St Jackus can also be considered as the creator (builder) of Lithuania. Although there are no historical facts proving that Jackus ever set his foot in the Lithuanian lands and proclaimed the word of God in them, his missions from Prussia to Russia show that he was trying to realize the desire of St Dominic to proclaim the Gospel to the Pagans of the Baltic region. The contacts that his closest collaborators had with Lithuania indicate that he was interested in the health of the Lithuanian soul. St Jackus was notable for loving everyone around him and rushing to help the poor or the oppressed people. He loved St Mary, prayed to her and even experienced a Marian apparition. While he was still alive, the Dominican was known for his miracles, however he was only canonized in the 16th century. The cult that became prevalent in many Catholic European countries existed in Lithuania, too. It is seen from the paintings and sculptures depicting St Jackus, found in Lithuanian churches, and a chapel in the Dominican Church of the Holy Spirit.
