ENThe word is the most important unit of a language, so mastering new lexis is considered to be one of the most urgent talking points of learning/teaching foreign languages. While learning/teaching foreign languages it is essential to develop learners' autonomy, introduce/leam methods of learning/teaching a foreign language as well as the psychological, sociolinguistic and didactic factors that influence the success of learning/teaching. Since a characteristic feature of learning lexis is autonomy, it is important to recognize one's learning type and be aware of one's own intrinsic learning/ teaching methodology. One of the forms of defining one's individual type is a test of associating correlations. The article gives a survey of psychological factors and their correlation with the ways of choosing activities, which helps to improve the quality of mastering new lexis while learning foreign languages.
