LTSavarankiškas užsienio kalbos mokymasis – svarbus struktūrinis kvalifikacijos kėlimo, tobulinimosi, geografinio ir profesinio mobilumo elementas. Mokymosi savarankiškumas laikomas novatoriška tema mokantis užsienio kalbų. Esminiai aspektai, lemiantys sėkmę, yra mokymosi proceso organizavimas, savarankiškumą ir išmokimą lemiantys veiksniai: tikslas, uždaviniai, turinys, asmeninė ir kitų asmenų kalbų mokymosi patirtis, savęs pažinimas, asmenybės ypatybės, mokymosi strategijos, priemonės, aplinka, intensyvumas, nuoseklumas etc. [Iš leidinio]Reikšminiai žodžiai: Mokymasis; Mokymo/si strateginė kompetencija; Mokymosi savarankiškumas; Learning; Learning autonomy; Strategic competence of learning.

ENValue of knowing foreign languages becomes more obvious when the role of human resources in social and economic development increases, free movement of them is being encouraged, closer cooperation is being promoted, and economics of knowledge is being created. In the states of the European Union, autonomous learning of foreign languages is an important structural element of developing professional qualification, and geographic as well as professional mobility. Any person can learn a foreign language. The two things needed are self-knowledge and being able to tailor the most suitable strategies and techniques to one's needs. It is very important to be able to organize the process of learning/teaching, set a definite objective and aims, be aware of one's own style and type of learning/teaching, be able to choose learning/teaching means, create purposeful environments, etc. Learning autonomy is considered to be an innovative subject-matter in the sphere of learning/teaching foreign languages. On the bases of the scientific theoretical background, the results of scientific research, and the experience of the authors, the article deals with the conception of the autonomy of learning as well as learning strategies, and highlights their role while learning foreign languages. The authors of the article offer optimal suggestions how to develop strategic competence while learning foreign languages in an autonomous way, considering the factors mentioned.
