LTLabiausiai žinomas Dievo Motinos apsireiškimas Šiluvoje, kai ji 1608 m. pasirodė mažiems piemenėliams. 1848 m. vyskupas Motiejus Valančius šį įvykį aprašė veikale „Žemaičių vyskupystė“, įvardindamas jį kaip tikrą faktą, įvykusį XVII a. pradžioje. Toks pat svarbus XVII amžiuje, kaip ir Šiluvos Dievo Motinos, buvo Aušros Vartų Dievo Motinos religinis centras. Šis paveikslas buvo žinomas jau XVI amžiuje.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Aušros Vartai; Dvasingumas.

ENThe best-known revelation of the Mother of God was in Šiluva, when she appeared to the little shepherds in 1608. In 1848, Bishop Motiejus Valančius described this event in his Žemaičių vyskupystė [The Samogitian Diocese], claiming it was a real event that took place in the early 17th century. The religious centre of the Mother of God of the Gates of Dawn [Aušros Vartai] was as important in the 17th century as the centre of the Mother of God of Šiluva. This painting was known already in the 16th century.
