Vestuviniai sodai: genezė ir simbolika

LTLietuvos etnologinėje literatūroje vestuvinio sodo1 genezės klausimas iš esmės neanalizuotas, o dėl jo simbolikos esama gana įvairių ir net prieštaringų nuomonių. Surinkta, palyginta, išanalizuota lietuvių bei kaimyninių tautų etnografinė ir tautosakinė medžiaga, antikos mitai leidžia daryti prielaidą, jog vestuvinis sodas susijęs su medžių kultu, su antropomorfine medžių samprata senojoje pasaulėjautoje, pasireiškiančia žmogaus ir medžio tapatinimu. ENIn Lithuanian ethnological literature, the question of the wedding garden genesis basically is not analyzed, and what concerns its symbolism, there are quite different and even conflicting opinions. The gathered, compared and analyzed ethnographic and folkloroic material of Lithuanian and neighbouring nations, and ancient myths allow making an assumption that the wedding garden was connected with the tree cult and with an anthropomorphic conception of trees in the old emotional attitude – identification of a man and a tree.
