ENThe influence of computers on teaching was first studied abroad more than thirty years ago. The beginning was when first theoretical works, giving proofs of the advantage of computer training, appeared. Computer training is a new and not fully investigated issue, especially computer training for the pupils of primary schools, and has not been thoroughly studied in Lithuania. This study reviews the experience and scientific research in the area of computer training in Lithuania and examines the peculiarities of the first to fourth- year pupils working with mathematics computer programs. As a result of the pedagogical experiment, during which the primary school pupils were working according to the supplementary program created by the authors of the experiment, it was determined that such a kind of work stimulates pupils' motivation for learning. When comparing different levels of the mathematical development of pupils' motivation, differences are distinct. The highest level pupils of the first and second forms showed the most interest in work with computer programs, and the same interest was demonstrated by the lowest level pupils of the third and fourth forms. Children showed a great interest in their work results, and a lot of positive emotions were generated the computer working groups. They also demonstrated more relaxed behavior. Pupils interacted not only with one another, but also with the computer or with the heroes of computer programs. The children's interest decreased after using the same program for a long time. Therefore, our proposal for the pedagogues would be diversifying training programs and starting with the programs with fewer play elements and proceeding to more playful ones. It would be good if computer programs had a few versions of computer games with different levels of speed and complexity.
