ENThe conception of informational viewpoint is investigated and the role of school informatics for training pupil's systematic- informational perception of the world is analyzed. The authors briefly review the methodological issues of informational viewpoint. Informational viewpoint is compared to different academic methodologies, as systems, functional and action-driven viewpoints and is characterized as a certain academic trend of cognition and methodological orientation. Informational viewpoint reveal itself in four functions, which form the ground for perception of social and natural objects and processes (phenomena): -organizational function is displayed in the process of decision making (in mass communication, control, information resources, cultural and educational systems), with the use of both modem technical means and traditional social means of knowledge transmission and preserving; -constructional function is displayed in the process of design and further development of information technology; -explanatory function is devoted to the description and explanation of different phenomena occurring in organizational, informational and communicational processes which happen in nature and society; -modeling function discerns the models of physical, social, mental and other objective processes from informational models, which are created by human and permit to imitate natural experiments.Bringing up the informational viewpoint is important because of these aspects: 1. Informational viewpoint is one of the modern science cognition means, which supplement the methodology of modern science. 2. Informational viewpoint creates a basis for subject science knowledge and their integration in problems solving and other creative activities. 3. Informational viewpoint forms an aggregated informational perception of the world. A questionnaire survey had been performed among secondary school students studying informatics. The results were analyzed and the gaps in the process of informatics teaching were highlighted. Finally, authors formulate suggestions on how informational viewpoint has to be integrated into the informatics teaching. The suggestions include: -to get students acquainted with the basic concepts of informational viewpoint, i.e., information, systems and models, algorithms, communication channels, etc., from the very beginning of the basic informatics course; to explain regularities of the processes happening in society, nature, technical systems; -to get students acquainted with the structuration and formalization of information, to train their abilities to develop informational models of the investigated objects and systems; -to train mental and technical- operational abilities of information searching using modern computer and communication technologies.
