Apžvelgiami rizikos grupės paaugliams būdingi charakterio ypatumai, jų įtaka požiūriui į socialinę aplinką. Analizuojama, kaip intelekto sutrikimas lemia charakterio formavimosi ypatumus paauglystėje.
ENThe article analyses the types of character of the risk group of teenagers with mild intellectual disabilities, their dependence on the impairment of mental development and social factors. The same types of character arc distinctive among the teenagers of the risk group: hyperthymic, epileptic and more seldom - flexible, sensitive, unstable. Mental impairment could decide particular specific character features only indirectly. Hyperthymic and epileptic character features are typical to mentally disabled teenagers of the risk group and intellectually, normal respondents have hyperthymic character features. During the period of puberty many teenagers with mild intellectual disabilities have distinct hyperthymic and epileptic features. Contrary to intellectually normal teenagers the intellectually disabled of epileptic character have a very distinctive expression of typical features. The distinction is determined by the typical feamrcs of teenagers with intellectual impairments: not critical way of thinking, inertia, immaturity of the sphere of emotions and will. The character types of teenagers with mild intellectual impairment influence different attitude to social environment: teenagers of hyperthymic type and easily communicate with other people, they dream about better future and enjoy adventures and risk; teenagers of epileptic type are careful in communication with strangers, they are antagonistic to people around them and become aggressive in case of failure; they are inclined to offend various rules and regulations. The development of character of teenagers with mild intellectual impairment is influenced in its own way not only by mental retardation (immaturity of emotions and will, uncritical thinking) but by unfavorable social environment (distorted family structure) as well.
