Žalgirio mūšis ir jo rašytinė tradicija

LTStraipsnyje apžvegiamas Žalgirio mūšis ir jo rašytinė tradicija. Itin svarbūs yra du aspektai – pats mūšis, jo istorinis kontekstas bei ilgalaikis ir kintantis mūšio atminimo reiškinys. Jau amžininkai įvertino šio mūšio, vieno didžiausių Europoje vėlyvaisiais Viduramžiais apskritai, reikšmę. Jis užbaigė 200 metų trukusią Kryžiaus karų epochą Rytų Pabaltijyje, simbolizavo Vokiečių ordino galios pabaigą ir sulaukė plataus tarptautinio atgarsio. Žalgirio mūšis ir su juo susiję įvykiai lėmė tolesnes Lietuvos istorijos raidos kryptis bei naują tarptautinę situaciją Vidurio ir Rytų Europoje. Mūšio atminimu imta rūpintis tuoj po įvykio. Mūšio garbei ketinta statyti ir funduoti vienuolynus. Lenkijoje, Lietuvoje bei Ordino krašte formavosi saviti pasakojimai apie mūšį ir jo eigą, atskiros mūšio versijos ir tradicijos. Mūšis neabejotinai paliko pėdsakus įvairių tautų istorinėje atmintyje. Atmintis apie šį mūšį formavo tiek XVI a. Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės diduomenės, Abiejų Tautų Respublikos politinio elito, tiek XIX–XX a. lietuvių tautinio atgimimo veikėjų politinę sąmonę. Ir šiuolaikinėje Lietuvoje Liepos 15-oji yra tarp oficialiai paskelbtų ir kalendoriškai įtvirtintų valstybės atmintinų dienų. Ilgą ir neblėstantį mūšio atminimą lemia kultūrinė atmintis – tie rašytiniai liudijimai, prisiminimai, pasakojimai, kurie žadino vis naujų kartų klausytojų ir skaitytojų vaizduotę. Akivaizdu viena, jog Žalgirio vaizdinys kinta kartu su besikeičiančiais laike jo autoriais, kurie sename įvykyje atranda aktualias reikšmes dabarčiai.

ENThe article overviews the Battle of Grunwald and its written tradition. Two aspects are of extreme importance - the battle itself, its historical context and long-term as well as changing memory phenomenon of the battle. Even contemporaries saw the significance of one of the biggest battles in Europe in the Late Middle Ages. It completed the era of the Crusades in the Eastern Baltics that lasted 200 years, symbolized the end of Teutonic Order's power and had a wide international resonance. The Battle of Grunwald and the events related to it led to the further directions of historical development of Lithuania and a new international situation in Central and Eastern Europe. Care of the memory of the battle started right after the event. It was intended to build and fund monasteries in honour of the battle. In Poland, Lithuania and Order’s land various stories about the battle and its course have arisen, as well as separate battle versions and traditions. The battle undoubtedly has left trace in the historical memory of various peoples. Memory of this battle was forming political consciousness of the aristocracy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of the XVIth century, political elite of Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth as well as the figures of the Lithuanian National Revival of XIX–XXth centuries. In modern Lithuania, July the 15th is one of the officially announced and calendrically fixed national memorable days. Long-standing and continuing memory of the battle is a result of a cultural memory - those written testimonies, memories, stories, which have been firing imagination of listeners and readers of new generations. It is certain that the image of Grunwald has been changing together with new authors, who keep discovering significance of this old event relevant to the modern times.
