ENEmotionally marked vocabulary is particularly used in colloquial expressions. In it, a sentence gain an appropriate meaning throughout linguistic (morphological, lexical, syntactic) and extra linguistic (context, sender's attitude to the addressee, facial expressions and gestures) factors. In the panorama of European linguistics, Lithuanian language has the most remarkable number of expressions denoting positive affections like tenderness and joy. The roots of this richness are to be searched for in folklore. The Lithuanian language is much poorer in pejorative expressions. Plenty of pejorative forms is borrowed from foreign languages and used, especially in the spoken language, with a more or less different sense than in the original. It results that the Lithuanian language already has to go a strong way towards normalization also because of the constant influence of different foreign language fluxes. [text from author]
