ENThe battle of Smolensk in 1611 was described in many occasional prints, also in those published in Jan Karcan printing house. These texts, both poems and prose, contain description of the victorious assault: its brave soldiers (among them especially Bartłomiej Nowodworski), its commanders and the captured fortress. Szturm pocieszny smoleński by Baltazar Ozimiński and anonymous O rekuperowaniu Smoleńska also show King of Poland Sigismund III Vasa and his son Ladislaus IV , both in panegyrical way. The occasional relations include a lot of details concerning the course of the battle and the conquering the fortress, whereas Ozimiński employed some sophisticated literary devices, like acrostich and using of mythology.
