The origin, the subject of matter, and some problematic aspects of their compliance with national regulations are to be the principal questions of the article. The paper ends with the conclusions on the rights of suspects and accused Persons in criminal proceedings in Lithuania. Moreover, the paper presents remarks on their strengthening perspectives according to the European Union regulation. The benefits and threats of the implementation of all three measures of the "Road Map" are analyzed in the context of both: the individual and through the prism of the country. [text from author]
