Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article is based on the theoretical tradition of philosophical hermeneutics and considers the image of sunset in the poetry of V.Mykolaitis-Putinas. It is concluded that the poetic image of sunset as a reflection of a world view is formed in the book of poetry "Between Two Dawns". Later this image is modified and transformed, remaining, however, essentially intact. In the novels "In the Shade of Altars" and "The Rebels" the image of sunset has an important bearing on the novels' created meanings.
