Deportee memoirs and Lithuanian history : the double testimony of Dalia Grinkevičiūtė

LTStraipsnyje tiriamas sovietų režimo represuotų asmenų atsiminimų aktualumas dabartinei Lietuvos visuomenei, analizei pasirenkant bene labiausiai žinomus tremtinės Dalios Grinkevičiūtės atsiminimus. Jie reprezentuoja ir „etnines“ ir „etines“ pasipriešinimo prievartai paradigmas. Straipsnyje pateikiami D. Grinkevičiūtės biografijos faktai. Ji parašė dvi atsiminimų versijas: 1949 m. rusų kalba ir 1976 m. lietuviškai. Straipsnyje jos lyginamos, analizuojamos Edith Wyschegrod atminties vietų koncepcijos kontekste ir kt. D. Grikevičiūtės atsiminimai suteikia daug medžiagos interpretacijoms: kaip etninės bendruomenės liudijimas ir kaip pilietiškumo saitais susijusios etinės bendruomenės liudijimas. Pirmasis jų implikuoja bendruomenės bendrą kilmę, priklausymą tautai, antrasis – bendruomenės telkimą teisiniais ir etiniais įsipareigojimais. Nė vienas atsiminimų variantas nepriskirtinas kuriai vienai paradigmai. Jaunos D. Grikevičiūtės atsiminimuose jos tautos ir klasės sampratas laužo jos patirtis, akivaizdus asmeniško šių kategorijų permąstymo procesas. Vėlesniuose atsiminimuose politiškai brandi autorė žvelgia iš labiau internacionalinės perspektyvos, bet taip pat aistringai liudija konkrečiai lietuvių tautos kolektyvinę traumą. ENThe article analyses the relevance of memories of persons repressed by the Soviet regime for the modern Lithuanian society by analysing memories of the most known exile Dalia Grinkevičiūtė. These memories represent ethnic and ethical paradigms of the opposition to violence. The article presents facts of Dalia Grinkevičiūtė’s biography. She wrote two versions of memories: the Russian language version of 1949 and the Lithuanian language version of 1976. This article compares these two versions, analyses them in the context of Edith Wyschegrod’s places of memory as well as analyses other Dalia Grinkevičiūtė’s recollections, which provide a great deal of material for interpretations: as an evidence of ethnic community and as an evidence of ethical community. The first one implies the common origin of the community and its national identity, the second – the concentration of the community with regard to legal and ethnic obligations. The both of the variants of the memories can be attributed to one of the paradigms. In the recollections of the young Dalia Grinkevičiūtė, the concepts on nation and class are broken by her personal process of perception of these categories. In her later recollections, already a politically mature author perceives them from a more international perspective. Her work allows observing the same dichotomies and challenges which the Lithuanian nation faces after the restoration of independence and encourages seeing the deepest problems in collective national identity.
