ENThe aim of the work is to explain the main meaning of the noun šviesa and also to disclose whether all dictionary examples demonstrate the discussed meanings and are appropriate while analyzing the semantic structure of the word šviesa. Lexical and grammatical analysis has been also made. The first meaning of the word šviesa in the LK (Lithuanian Language Dictionary) is "a day period, the brightest part of the day". There is an effort to prove that the main meaning is "rays, which make the world to be seen".
