Lito banknotai: romantizmo recidyvai ir epigonų vargai

LTStraipsnyje plėtojama lietuviškų banknotų apipavidalinimo tema. Atsikuriant nepriklausomai Lietuvai turėjo formuotis visas valstybingumo įvaizdžių, simbolių, valstybinio tapatumo ženklų kompleksas, kuriam priklauso herbas, vėliava, himnas, apdovanojimai, pašto ženklai, banknotai ir netgi daug smulkesnio rango reiškiniai. Tas kompleksas neatsirado staiga. Valstybinio tapatumo elementai išliko istorinėje atmintyje, o nepriklausomybės laikais dauguma jų išniro apvalyti nuo bendro paveldo su Lenkija. Atsikūrusi respublika neabejodama perėmė buvusios monarchinės valstybės simboliką. Tuo tarpu šiuo metu apyvartoje esančių pinigų banknotuose nėra užuominos į Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštijos laikotarpį, nors šiandien LDK yra daugumos Lietuvoje gyvenančių tautybių simbolis. Dabartinių banknotų averse pavaizduoti XIX – XX a. tautinio atgimimo veikėjai, kurių seniausias yra Valančius, o jauniausi – Darius ir Girėnas. Asmenys naujiems lietuviškiems banknotams parinkti labai vienakryptiškai. Tiesą sakant, visi jie atstovauja tik vienai tautinės savimonės ir tautinių vertybių grupei. Visi jie, išskyrus gal nebent Valančių ir Maironį, reprezentuoja tautinio atgimimo liberalinį sparną ir labiausiai priimtini liberalinei nacionalistinei inteligentijos daliai. Kitas dalykas, kad daugelis iš pavaizduotų personažų nieko nebesako jaunesniajai kartai. Reverso paveiksliukas dažniausiai niekaip nesisieja su aversu, o tai prieštarauja bet kokioms popierinių pinigų kūrimo taisyklėms. ENThe theme of Lithuanian bank notes design is discussed in the article. With restoration of independent Lithuania, the whole complex of state images, symbols, state identity signs had to be developed, which includes state emblem, flag, anthem, medals, post stamps, bank notes and even objects of minor importance. The complex was not developed in one day. The elements of state identity have been stored in the historical memory, while majority of them came out during the years of independence purified from common heritage with Poland. The restored republic took over the monarch state symbols without any hesitation. While the bank notes that are currently in circulation have not a hint to the period of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, though today the GDL is the symbol of majority of nationalities residing in Lithuania. The averse of present bank notes depict the figures of the national rebirth of the 19th - 20th Century, Valančius being the oldest and Darius and Girėnas the youngest personalities. The choice of the personalities for the new Lithuanian bank notes was based on one direction. In fact, they all represent only one group of national consciousness and national values. All of them, probably except for Valančius and Maironis, represent liberal wing of the national rebirth and they are most acceptable to the liberal national intelligentsia. Another issue is that most of the depicted figures mean nothing to the younger generation. The image on the reverse of the note usually is completely unrelated with the averse, which contradicts any rules of paper money design. It must be admitted that the Lithuanian bank notes in circulation represent the case of anachronistic epigonic romanticism.
