LTApie vokiečių viduramžių rašytoją Schondochą žinoma labai nedaug. Iki šiol nenustatyta, kurioje XIV a. pusėje jis gyveno. Nežinomas ir jo vardas. Schondocho poemoje „Lietuvis“ ("Der Litauer") vaizduojamas pagoni6kosios Lietuvos karaliaus krikštas. Karaliaus vardas poemoje nepasakytas, ir tai paskatino dar XIX a. pabaigoje rašiusius literatūros tyrinėtojus ieškoti karaliaus prototipo. To prototipo ieškojimas sudaro ir vieną iš Aglaya Strauss veikalo dalių. Į Lietuvą Schondocho poema pateko dviem keliais: 1974 m. ją išvertė JAV gyvenantis lietuvių poetas Alfonsas Tyruolis-Šešplaukis, o 1998 m. vokiečių metraštyje „Annaberger Annalen“ (redaktorius Arthuras Hermanas) buvo paskelbtas Aglaya Strauss darbas „Vienas kūrinys iš Vokiečių ordino literatūros: Schondocho „Lietuvis“ („Ein Werk aus der Deutschordensliteratur: „Der Litauer“ von Schondoch“).
ENNot much data are known about the mediavel German writer Schondoch. Up till now, it was not defined in which half of the 14th century he was living. Also, his first name still remains unknown. Schondoch in his poem "Lithuaninan" ("Der Litauer") describes the baptism of the pagan Lithuanian king. The name of the king is not mentioned in the poem. This fact encouraged literary researchers to look for king's prototype already in 19th century. One part of Aglaya Strauss' work is dedicated to search of this prototype. Schondoch's poem came to Lithuania in two ways: Alfonsas Tyruolis-Šešplaukis, Lithuanian poet residing in USA, translated it in 1974, and the German annals "Annaberger Annalen" (editor Arthur Hermann) published Aglaya Strauss' work "One Work from the German Order Literature: Schondoch's "Lithuanian" ("Ein Werk aus der Deutschordens-literatur: "Der Litauer" von Schondoch") in 1998.
