Summary / Abstract:

LTRemiantis Lietuvos Respublikos įstatymais bei kitais juridiniais aktais, politinių partijų dokumentais, politine spauda, istorikų darbais, epistoliarine medžiaga, analizuojama moterų veikla bei vaidmuo valstybės kūrime, atskleidžiama įvairialypė jų veikla siekiant gauti politines teises. Straipsnyje glaustai aptariama 1917 m.

ENReferring to the laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, documents of political parties, political press, historians’ works and epistolary materials, women’s activities and their role in development of the state is analyzed and their different activities for the purpose of acquisition of political rights are revealed. The article provides a brief discussion of the Vilnius Conference, arranged in 1917 and highlights the reasons for non-participation of women in the conference, as well as women’s activities in 1918–1920. The article strives at identification of when the women received partial and full political rights and discusses the differences between partial and full political rights, comparing them to other states (of the Northern, Middle and Western Europe). Implementation of women’s political rights is discussed, it is stated that women both perceived and implemented their political rights differently, which resulted from their education and social status. Towns’ women, notwithstanding their different social status, used their political and citizens’ rights more actively. A significant part of the article is dedicated to women’s participation in the fights for the Independence, shows their activities in arranging the financial and other assistance to Lithuania’s army.
