Polacy w oczach Litwinów w pierwszej połowie XX w.

LTStraipsnyje analizuojami lenkų stereotipai, įsitvirtinę Lietuvoje XX a. pirmojoje pusėje. Juos lėmė lietuvių valstiečių požiūris į vietos lenkiškąją šlėktą. „Ponai“ visuomet būdavo išjuokiami dėl pasipūtimo, tingulio, polinkio į girtavimą ir azartinius žaidimus. Lenkų paminėjimas lietuvių liaudies dainose susijęs su XVII-XVIII a. karais su švedais, karais su Napoleonu ir XIX a. sukilimais. Jose Lenkija – tolimas, bet draugiškas kraštas, o lenkai – ginklo broliai. XIX a. pabaigoje lenko įvaizdis darėsi vis negatyvesnis. Tai lėmė lietuvių tautinio atgimimo ideologija. Galutinai lenko kaip priešo stereotipas įsitvirtino dėl 1918-1922 m. karinio konflikto ir Lietuvos Respublikoje tarpukariu vyravusios antilenkiškos atmosferos. Straipsnyje plačiau aptariami lietuvių periodinėje spaudoje, literatūroje, karikatūrose lenkams priskirti bruožai – arogancija, pagyrūniškumas, egzaltacija, nuomonės nepastovumas, bailumas, polinkis į anarchiją ir kt. Aptariamas periodikoje paplitęs satyrinis Prošepano arba Pono vaizdavimas, Lenkijos politinių veikėjų ir valstybės simbolių pašiepimas. Vis dėlto lietuviai pozityviai vertino lenkams būdingą religingumą ir patriotizmą, su Lietuvos problematika nesusijusius literatūros kūrinius. XX a. pirmoje pusėje vyravusiems įvaizdžiams didelę įtaką darė dar iki valstybės padalijimų susiformavę stereotipai. Dėl lenkų-lietuvių karinio konflikto lenkai imti suvokti kaip priešai. ENThe article analyses the stereotypes of Poles that took roots in Lithuania in the first half of the twentieth century. They were preconditioned by the attitude of Lithuanian peasants to the local Polish szlachta. “Ponai” (“Lords”) had always been ridiculed for their arrogance, laziness and proclivity to drinking and gambling. The mention of the Polish in Lithuanian folk songs is associated with the wars against the Swedish in the seventeenth – eighteenth centuries, wars against Napoleon, and rebellions in the nineteenth century. In those songs, Poland is a distant but friendly land, and Poles are brothers in arms. At the end of the nineteenth century, the image of a Pole was becoming increasingly negative. It was caused by the ideology of the Lithuanian national revival. Finally, the stereotype of a Polish as an enemy took roots as a result of the military conflict in 1918-1922 and anti-Polish atmosphere that prevailed in the Republic of Lithuania during the inter-war period. The paper presents a more comprehensive discussion of the traits that were attributed to Poles in Lithuanian periodicals, literature, and caricatures – arrogance, vainglory, exaltation, volatility of opinions, vainglory, temptation to anarchy, and so on. The article discusses the satirical portraying of Prošepanas or Ponas, mockery of Polish political figures and state symbols. However, Lithuanians positively evaluated religiosity and patriotism inherent to Poles as well as literary works that were not related to Lithuanian problematics. Images that prevailed in the first half of the twentieth century were strongly influenced by the stereotypes that had formed before the divisions of the state. As a result of the Polish-Lithuanian military conflict, Poles began to be perceived as enemies. During the inter-war period, a new, negative image of the dangerous and treacherous neighbour formed.
