Looking for the quality criteria in higher education: competences into the future

LTStraipsnis skirtas naujoms kompetencijoms, padėsiančioms spręsti globalizuotos, daugiakultūrinės, sparčiai besikeisiančios visuomenės problemas, kurioms būdingas kompleksiškumas, neapibrėžtumas ir rizika. Aukštasis mokslas (AM)turėtų ženkliai prisidėti prie atitinkamų žinių ir kompetencijos plėtotės (UNECE, 2005). Pristatomas reprezentatyvus tyrimas, siekiant išsiaiškinti studentų požiūrį į ateities profesinei veiklai svarbias kompetencijas bei studijų procesui įtakos turinčius veiksnius. Nesitikėta, bet kūrybiškumą studentai įvertino kaip mažiau perspektyvų palyginti su komunikacijos, problemų sprendimų, tyrimų ir analizės bei savarankiško mokymosi kompetencijomis. Tai rodo inovatyvių AM pedagoginių prieigų ir adekvačių dėstytojų kompetencijų poreikį. Darnaus vystymosi švietimas teikia konceptualų pagrindą ir telkiant švietimo pajėgas darniai visuomenei kurti, ir formuojant AM sistemos kokybės tyrimų ir vertinimo principus.

ENThe article is dedicated to the new emerging competences needed to address the complexity, uncertainty and risk in a globalised, culturally diverse and rapidly changing society. Higher education (HE) should contribute significiantly in the development of appropriate knowledge and competences (UNECE, 2005). A representative student survey was carried out involving bachelor students to investigate their opinijon on competences to be important in the future professional activities and the perceptions of different factors having influence on a study process. Surprisingly, creativity has beenevaluated by students as the less perspective in comparison with communication, problem-solving, research and analysis as well as self-directed learning. It is an indication of the necessity of innovative pedagogical aproaches in HE as well as relevant competences of teachers. Education for sustainable development provides a conceptual framework both in reorieting education to become a driving force in creating a sustainable sočiety and providing principles for systemic analysis and assessment of HE quality.
