ENThe development of pupils' construction skills is very important not only for each personality, but for the whole future society as well, because they put the background to the creative, visual, divergent way of thinking. In general sense construction skills could be thought as the ability to perceive the whole and its constructive parts, to classificate them, to change, to redistribute, to supplement and create the new structures mentally or in practice. The combination of modulus - is the construction method which was descended from the history of building and now is widespread in various kinds of human activity, in technical and artistic construction - the two ways of constructing our objective environment - as well. The backgrounds of practical construction skills pupils get in primary school and even earlier (by constructing games). It is the first stage laying background to the development of the artistic construction pupils' skills. The prerequisites for developing artistic construction skills lay in the curriculum of Home Economics, but it is not described systematic and purposefully in subject didactics and because of that is hardly used in practice. We think that the main artistic construction skills are connected with the analysis of the structure of object's plane or space form, various changes of its construction parts, combining them into new different forms; with plane form transformation to space (and inverse), according to the material plastic; with artistic composing of object form. The curriculum of Home Economics and the project of education standards are analysed in the article in order to explore the possibility of development of pupils' construction shills. The methodological prerequisites lay in modern humanistic theory of philosophy and psychological theory of constructivism. These theories put the accent on pupil's activity, on constructing his system of knowledge based on his own experience.
