ENAs the new century approached, on 15 April 1900, the World Exposition was opened in Paris, where 35 countries set up their exhibits. Among them was Lithuania, at that time part of the Russian Empire, thus sending a message to the world that it had its own script, history, and culture. Lithuanian emigrants in America and Europe managed the organising of the exhibition. An ethnographic exhibit was prepared, and photographs were an important part. The article presents the circumstances of their creation and the authors — Povilas Višinskis, Robert Minzloff, Alfred Swieykowski, and others. The photographs captured Lithuanians from Žemaitija, Suvalkija, and Klaipėda Region.
