ENWithin the year nearly 30 per cent of Lithuanian families are getting divorced, in various accidents are killed mostly young men. Women, remaining alone with children arc taking care of family and supporting it. This motive induce them to marry once again. The success of children lifes in second family depends on following factors: their experiences in previous family, relations between mother and stepfather, stepfathers and stepdaughters attitudes toward stepchildren, quality of relations. Studied literature and carried out empyrical researches leeds to following conslusions. Second marriage - mass phenomenon. The fifth part of all manages are made with divorcess or widowers. In a new family children need to accustom and learn to live not only with stepfather or stepmother, but sometimes with new sisters and brothers. It's better, when stepfather or stepmother are coming into a new family gradually, trying to be on friendly terms with stepchildren. Good terms of couple with each other and sufficient attention to stepchildren would help them addapt in a new family faster and more successfully.
