Summary / Abstract:

The police are one of the state authorities responsible for road. In order to ensure traffic safety, police should use the tools and techniques that would achieve the best results in improving the traffic condition. That should be the main principle for the police strategy ensuring traffic safety. Police activities to ensure traffic safety and assessed the activities of the shortcomings identified in the most effective fight against violations of individual rights, a threat to road safety, the measures. Article„s purpose is, throughout the look of traffic users, to find most valuable police course of action which would make the greatest impact on traffic safety. Police activities in order to ensure traffic safety is analyzed and activity defections are evaluated, most valuable measures to fight against separate law offenses which threats to traffic safety are identified. The study found that the police in order to ensure complete traffic safety use a variety of ways and means. The main activities of the police traffic safety are police educational activities, as well as the daily work or planning of appropriate measures ensuring traffic safety are. Both the educational activities and the maintenance of traffic safety are important and influencing factors of traffic safety, but the police, in order to ensure traffic safety, should give priority to organize police patrol in accident and dangerous stretches of roads and targeted measures aimed at preventing violations of law or establish persons who violated Road traffic. The key reasons for which because of which the efficiency of the police work at ensuring traffic safety is reduced are: lack of technical tools, inadequate human resources in police management, using outdated and inefficient methods and police corruption. Increased police efforts are not the best way to deal with separate traffic violation. The prevention of speeding, drunk or intoxicated driving or braking the rules of safety measures should be carried out using technical (for example, installation of speed measuring devices, etc..) and legal (for example, greater responsibility, etc..) measures. An educational activity should be taken to help road users form appropriate handling of safety measures. [From the publication]
