Joniškėlio paštas

LTPaštas Joniškėlyje buvo įsteigtas 1918 m. pradžioje Joniškėlio dvare. Tik įsisteigęs Joniškėlio paštas dirbo sklandžiai: nebuvo skundų iš gyventojų, priekaištų neturėjo ir įstaigos tikrintojai. Joniškėlio paštas 1923 m. gavo 8459 Lt, o 1928 m. – 16660 Lt pajamų. Taigi per penkerius metus pajamos beveik padvigubėjo. Kadangi Joniškėlio paštas dirbo pelningai, 1930 m. gegužės 1 d. ši įstaiga priskirta šeštai rūšiai. Tai reiškė, kad nuo to laiko pašte dirbs mažiausiai du laiškininkai. Paštas ir toliau dirbo sėkmingai. 1937 m. paštas turėjo 21594 Lt pajamų ir 14346 Lt išlaidų, 1938 m. ši įstaiga gavo 22313 Lt pajamų ir turėjo 14384 Lt išlaidų. Gauta 7929 Lt pelno. 1932 m. finansų ir susisiekimo ministrai susitarė prie paštų steigti taupomųjų valstybės kasų skyrius. Toks taupomosios kasos skyrius veikė ir Joniškėlyje. Joniškėlio paštui priklausė Švobiškio ir Gailionių pašto agentūros. Gyvenvietėse, kur paštas žmonėms būdavo reikalingas, tačiau nesitikėta didesnės negu 5 tūkst. Lt apyvartos, būdavo steigiamos pašto agentūros – pagalbinės pašto įstaigos, kuriose būdavo priimama ir išduodama paprastoji bei registruotoji korespondencija, atsiimama prenumeruojama spauda. Agentūros nepriimdavo ir neišduodavo įvertintų laiškų, siuntinių, didesnių pašto perlaidų. Karo metais paštui vadovavo visa eilė viršininkų. Darbuotojų skaičius keisdavosi – daugėjo telefonisčių, laikraštininkų, spaudą pristatydavo traukinukai. 1962–1987 m. ENThe post office in Joniškėlis was established in the beginning of 1918 in Joniškėlis manor. Right after establishment the post-office was smooth-running: there were no complaints from visitors neither from inspectors of the undertaking. The post-office of Joniškėlis have earned LTL 8,459 income in 1923, and LTL 16,660 in 1928. Thus, in five years the income have grown almost twice. As the post-office in Joniškėlis was profitable, on 1 May 1930 it was attributed to grade 6. It meant that from then on at least two postmen were hired. The post-office continued its profitable operation. In 1937 the post-office had LTL 21,594 of income and LTL 14,346 of expenses, in 1938 the organisation earned LTL 22,313 and had LTL 14,384 of expenses. The profit reached LTL 7,929. In 1932 Ministers of Finance and Communication have agreed to establish divisions of the state savings bank at the post-offices. Such division of the savings bank also existed in Joniškėlis. Joniškėlis post-office comprised Švobiškis and Gailioniai post agencies. In settlements where post-offices were needed, however, the expected turnover did not exceed LTL 5 thousand, the postal agencies were being established: i.e. subsidiary undertakings of the post-office, which accepted and dispensed standard and signed for correspondence, and where prescribed press was picked up. Agencies did not accept or dispense confirmed letters, parcels or larger money transfers. During the war the post-office was managed by a number of executives. The number of employees varied: a number of operators and newspapermen grew, the press was delivered by trains. In 1962–1987 Joniškėlis post-office included three postal agencies: in Narteikiai, Gustonys and Kapčiūnai, and since 1987 it included two of them: in Narteikiai and Nakiškiai.
