ENAfter Lithuania regained independence, it started receiving the documents from the archives of the USA and other countries that witnessed social-cultural and musical activities of Lithuanians in exile hardly known in Lithuania. One of them was Bruno Markaitis SJ, a Jesuit priest, a gifted composer recognised by professionals (he composed about 130 works), a publicist and a conductor who also worked in the field of pastoral counselling in a consistent and purposeful way. A significant part of the personal archives of B. Markaitis SJ is stored in Vilnius, at the House of Jesuits, and in K. Pemkus Archives at Klaipėda University. In 2007, the monograph on B. Markaitis (132 p.) by Assoc. Prof. Robertas Varnas was published in Klaipėda University Press. In the preface, the author regretted having reviewed only the music-related activities of B. Markaitis, but not his pastoral counselling or other fields of activities. The fact inspired the present article. In the second part of the article, the subjects of religious publications of B. Markaitis reflecting the attitudes of his religious views are discussed. Pastoral counselling of B. Markaitis, directly related to his activities as a lecturer and a publicist, was a significant field of his activities and was carried out in a consistent way. However, the archival documents of his creative biography related to that special field were of a fragmentary character and had to be collected from different sources. He left abundant works on religious and musical subjects (he wrote reviews, spoke in religious programmes on the radio, delivered sermons in churches, lectured at schools and universities, and published two books), however, presently, we still do not know the contents of the majority of his works. Therefore, the first article on the subject of B. Markaitis' SJ views and religious world outlook was based on his religious articles published in the book "Širdies gelmė" ("The Depth of the Heart") (1957). The book revealed the attitudes of the religious world outlook of the author. His articles dealt with different subjects, such as alienation of people in the context of thriving hypocrisy and deceitful spiritual moral standards, the problems of loneliness and family, theological reflection on the interaction of justice and happiness and others. That subgroup of works could be defined as topical spiritual and moral problems of the society. The second subgroup of the articles was of an Evangelical type: dissemination of the Gospel and the emphasis on its significance. [...].
