Summary / Abstract:

LTXX a. pabaigoje – XXI a. pradžioje tautinio kostiumo kūrimas Lietuvoje pateko į naują tautiškumo (etniškumo) idėjų įtaką. ENAt the end of the XX century-beginning of the XXI century, the creation of the national costume in Lithuania was under a new influence of the ideas of nationality (ethnicity). It was the start of a period of its everyday and scenic use, based on modern concepts, corresponding to the new ethno-cultural needs. A wide area for creativity opened, into which were introduced culture workers, artists, and the heads of folklore groups and members, who were ready to revive the ethno-cultural heritage and to awaken national feelings. Wearing a national costume is a special means to demonstrate ethno-cultural self-awareness. One of the ways to demonstrate ethno-cultural self-awareness is the creation of national costumes. So far there have been virtually no researches on how Lithuanian folklore groups use concert costumes to express their ethno-cultural identity and self-awareness. The author of the article analyzed the age of the members of the folklore groups, their geographical ancestry, education, as well as the role of the concert activities on their ethno-cultural self-awareness. Over the last decade of the XX century, the influence and variety of the world cultures that reached Lithuania, the fast transformation of the cultural traditions, and the changed symbolic meaning of things raised new aspects of the ethno-cultural phenomenon, national costume, and social and cultural aspects. The purpose of the article is to establish, through the concert of costumes of the Lithuanian folklore groups, the expression of ethno-cultural self-awareness and the importance of creating these costumes and wearing them for ethno-cultural self-awareness of the members of the folklore groups.
