ENThis article presents the first expressions of the soviet origin in the Polish language of the North-Eastern Kresy between the two world wars of the 20th century Poland. The analysis of that peculiar words and phrases has been performed on the material extracted from the daily newspaper publication of the "Kurier Wileński" that was published in Vilnius in the twenty years between the wars. The author listed 32 lexems which in the Polish language used in the whole Poland were not present in the period researched. The most numerous group (22 units) is made up of the borrowings from the Russian language that were in fact accepted and incorporated into the phonetic and grammatical system of the Polish language. The remaining 10 units are the Soviet language presented in the form of quotations which in fact remained outside the general circulation probably because of the clearly detectable connotations of strangeness (meaning the Russian origin).
