Summary / Abstract:

LTXX amžiaus antrojo ir trečiojo dešimtmečių sandūroje baltarusių ir lietuvių politinis bendradarbiavimas paliko ryškų pėdsaką abiejų tautų istorijoje. Nemažai žmonių, dalyvavusių baltarusių nacionaliniame judėjime, apsigyveno etnografinėje Lietuvoje dėl lenkų okupacijos. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama viena iš svarbiausių tarpukario Lietuvos baltarusių visuomenės apraiškų - spauda. Išsamesni tyrimai apie šią tautinę mažumą iki šiol nėra atlikti nei Lietuvoje, nei Baltarusijoje. Šis straipsnis - tarsi įžanga tolesniems baltarusių gyvenimo Lietuvoje tyrinėjimams.

ENThe Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation in the second and third decades of the 20t h century strongly influenced the subsequent relations between the two nations. Many Belorussians who left their homeland after it had become part of Poland chose to settle in the ethnographic territory of Lithuania. The Belorussians were the first nation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which started to cooperate with the Lithuanian Council. Between 1920 and 1923, Kaunas became one of the most important centers of Belorussian exile, and the Council as well as the Government of the Belorussian People's Republic operated from there. The present paper discusses an important social activity of the Belorussian national minority in midwar Lithuania, the publication of Belorussian periodicals. From 1918 to 1940,14 titles were published, though most of them appeared only once or very few times. Most of the periodicals were published by political organizations or Lithuanian state institutions and thus had an obvious political emphasis; only Kryvicz, in the beginning supported by state funds, focused on literature and cultural issues. Other periodicals of the period were aimed at the Belorussians serving in the Lithuanian army or were political papers, published by the Ministry of Belorussian Affairs. Detailed studies about Belorussians in Lithuania do not exist in either Lithuania or Belarus. This paper does not aim to present a full analysis of the issue, but offers a small introduction to it.
