ENTaking into consideration the realia of literary education in Lithuanian general education schools (tendencies of change in literary education standards and programmes of Lithuanian general education schools, models of the final examination of the Lithuanian language at basic and secondary schools, as well as literary interests of learners), the article discusses the problems of modern literature didactics: how to harmonize the application of didactic models of traditional, modern, and post-modern literary theory in contemporary Lithuanian schools of general education? Attitudes of Lithuanian language teachers and VPU (Vilnius Pedagogical University) students of Lithuanian to literature didactics are discussed through analysis of responses to questionnaires and the literature interests and models of creative writing of VPU students and learners of S. Neris gymnasium who participated in the literary-creative research. The conclusions are drawn regarding the possibilities to apply flexible literature didactics in the process of education at Lithuania's schools of general education.
