ENThe article analyses the competences of business management specialists in logistics, their qualification requirements and opportunities of competitiveness in the labour market. The aim of research is to explore employers' and students' views on specialists' professional competence and the congruence between specialist supply and labour market needs. To determine employers' needs and the degree of college students' preparation for the labour market, a survey of employers and students has been carried out. The objectives of research: to reveal employers' assessment of college students' knowledge and skills; to determine personal and professional competences and their level required by specialists in business management (logistics). According to the employers' survey, specialists in business management (logistics) mostly need work experience, theoretical knowledge on management, communicational, foreign language and negotiating skills. The analysis of students' survey has revealed that students lack practical skills and special professional competences most of all. With reference to the research findings, first, it is necessary to improve the quality of business management specialist training in order to fully meet employers' requirements.Second, it is very important to sustain professional theoretical training of specialists in management by providing more knowledge on professional matters, as well as management, business administration and psychology. Third, a greater emphasis should be placed on the quality of organization of practical training which can be achieved both by intensifying the cooperation between employers and the college, particularly in terms of matching the contents of studies with the employers' requirements for the speciality and by encouraging employers to provide students with practical training.
