Summary / Abstract:

ENScientific research of the past decades shows that in the educational systems of different countries in the world including Lithuania, there has been going on a significant shift from teaching to learning in certain subjects, from analysis of the teaching process to analysis of the learning process, from focal role of the teacher in the process of teaching to focal role of the learner in the process of learning. The aim of the research was to explore using the potential of the collaborative learning for teaching technologies. The article analyzed what influence using the methods of collaborative learning and both pupils' communication and interpersonal relationship have on mastering the knowledge. The experiment was carried out in 2006-2008 year. In the experiment were involved 88 schoolchildren of five classes of Marijampole Jonas Totoraitis secondary school. For testing the knowledge of pupils, tests were used. The experiment proved that using collaborative methods in technology lessons improves mastering the knowledge, develops pupils' activeness, interest in the activities and social skills. It was found that pedagogic process bad more quality in those class groups which were formed earlier and where the pupils' social skills were better developed. The basic functions of teacher during the collaborative learning lessons are - to help students work together in groups and help groups to do their job. To sum up the results of the experiment, we can state that the use of collaborative learning methods are assimilating knowledge although a small difference, but better than using traditional methods, i.e. collaborative learning methods have a positive impact on teaching quality. It is noted that the pupil communication, interpersonal relations, improve teaching quality of the process, this means that the students know better absorbed when working with their friends or a team, rather than low-familiar classmate.
