LTRecenzijoje aptariama Neringos Liubinienės daktaro disertacija „Migrantai iš Lietuvos Šiaurės Airijoje: ‚savos erdvės‘ konstravimas“ (2009). Lietuvos migracijos, ypač emigracijos ir grįžtamosios migracijos reiškiniai yra plačiai aptariami. Liubinienės antropologiniai tyrinėjimai atveria naujas analizės galimybes. Antropologiniai lauko tyrimo metodai leido autorei surinkti vertingų žinių apie migrantų patirtį ir jomis grįsti teorinius modelius. Konceptualizuodama migrantų patirtį, mokslininkė telkė dėmesį į savos erdvės konstravimą Šiaurės Airijoje ir Lietuvoje. Spendimas tyrinėti lokalinę migrantų patirtį, erdvės ir vietos patyrimą lemia disertacijos naujumą. Disertacijoje ne tik surinkta ir sisteminta empirinė medžiaga, bet apibendrintos ir teorinės nuostatos. Laiko ir erdvės suvokimas – neatskiriama žmogaus pažinimo dalis, todėl bet kokia nuodugni analizė, kaip žmogus suvokia ir suteikia prasmę savo aplinkai, yra reikšminga. Liubinienė analizuoja, kaip migrantai patiria ir suvokia juos supančią vietą bei erdvę. Šiame tyrime gvildenamas antropologinis vietos konceptas, transnacionalinės erdvės, judėjimo keliai, įvairios lojalumo ir asmens ryšio su vieta formos. Gausios citatos ir nuorodos suteikia daug įdomios informacijos apie respondentų patirtis, tačiau kelia klausimų apie pačius respondentus ir kai kurias vartojamas sąvokas. Kai kuriais atvejais apibendrinant respondentų idėjas stinga gilesnės jų analizės. ENThe review discusses the PhD thesis “Migrantai iš Lietuvos Šiaurės Airijoje: ‚savos erdvės‘ konstravimas” [Migrants from Lithuania in Northern Ireland: Creation of Own Space] by Neringa Liubinienė (2009). The thesis widely discusses the phenomena of Lithuanian migration, especially emigration and return migration. Liubinienė’s anthropological investigations open new analysis opportunities. Anthropological fieldwork methods allowed the author to collect valuable information about migrants’ experience and use it for substantiating theoretical models. While conceptualising migrants’ experience, the scientist focused on the creation of own space in Northern Ireland and Lithuania. The decision to explore local migrants’ experience of space and place determines thesis recency. The thesis not only accumulates and systematises empirical material, but also generalises theoretical provisions. Perception of time and space is an inseparable part of human cognition; therefore, any exhaustive analysis how an individual perceives and gives meaning to his environment is significant. Liubinienė analyses how migrants experience and perceive the place and space surrounding them. The study explores the anthropological concept of place, transnational spaces, movement ways, and various forms of loyalty and personal relation with the place. Abundant citations and references provide a lot of interesting information about the respondents’ experiences; however, raise questions as to the respondents themselves and certain concepts used. In some cases, a deeper analysis of the respondents’ ideas is missing. Nevertheless, the thesis is a mature and valuable work.
