LTDarbe recenzuojama Vaidos Kamuntavičienės mokslinė monografija ,,Katalikų bažnyčios ir valstybės santykiai Lietuvos Didžiojoje Kunigaikštystėje XVII a. antrojoje pusėje“. Monografijos autorės gerą dalykinį pasirengimą rodo netrumpas publikuotų šaltinių bei literatūros sąrašas, nors ne visi naudoti šaltiniai ar literatūra į šį sąrašą yra įtraukti. Pirmajame monografijos skyriuje yra analizuojama administracinė to meto Bažnyčios struktūra bei personalijos. Ši analizė yra pateikiama plačiame kontekste įtraukiant vyskupijų įsteigimo ir pavaldumo klausimus. Antrajame knygos skyriuje yra apžvelgiami mokesčiai valstybei, vyskupijų kapitulų vaidmuo sprendžiant visuomenines ir politines problemas bei vyskupų dalyvavimas valstybės valdyme. Trečiajame monografijos skyriuje yra tiriama Romos Katalikų Bažnyčios Lietuvoje laikysena valstybės vykdytos to meto užsienio politikos krypčių atžvilgiu. Recenzuojama monografija yra vertinga dėl gausios ir neretai naujos, į mokslinę apyvartą pirmą kartą įtraukiamos, istoriografinės medžiagos bei naujų tyrimų perspektyvų, atsiskleidžiančių autorės darbe. Susisteminti duomenys lentelėse yra puiki iliustruojanti medžiaga ir kartu duomenų bazė kitiems tyrimams, tačiau duomenų išdėstymas yra gana atsainus. Monografijoje būtų buvę pravartu pateikti vietovardžių rodyklę. Monografijos autorei nepavyko išvengti vietovardžių rašybos netikslumų. Recenzuojama monografija lietuvių istoriografijoje ženklina naują Lietuvos Bažnyčios istorijos tyrimų puslapį.

ENThe paper reviews the scientific monograph of Vaida Kamuntavičienė “Katalikų bažnyčios ir valstybės santykiai Lietuvos Didžiojoje Kunigaikštystėje XVII a. antrojoje pusėje” [Relationships of the Catholic Church and the State in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the Second Half of the 17th Century]. Sound preparation of the monograph author in the field under consideration is shown by a lengthy list of published sources and references, although not all the sources or references used were included into this list. The first part of the monograph analyses the administrative structure and personalities of the Church of that time. The analysis is presented in a broad context while including the issues of diocese establishment and subordination. The second part of the book reviews the taxes to the state, the role of diocese chapters in the solution of social and political problems as well as the involvement of bishops in the governance of the state. The third part of the monograph examines the position of the Rome Catholic Church in Lithuania with regard to foreign policies pursued at that time by the state. The reviewed monograph is valuable due to abundant and often new historiographic materials that were included in the scientific circulation for the first time as well as new perspectives of studies revealing themselves in the work of the author. The systemised data in tables simultaneously represent excellent illustrative material and databases for other researches; the exposition of the data is however rather perfunctory. It would have been helpful to provide an index of place-names. The author of the monograph did not succeed at avoiding the inaccuracies in the place-name spelling. The monograph being reviewed marks a new page in the studies of the Church history in Lithuania.
