Mažeikių rajono abiturientų informuotumas apie Telšių apskrityje esančias aukštąsias mokyklas ir profesinį bakalaurą

LTStraipsnyje analizuojama Mažeikių rajono ir miesto abiturientų nuomonė apie Žemaitijos kolegijos Mažeikių studijų centre ruošiamus specialistus, perspektyvas plečiant centro veiklą. Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti Mažeikių rajono ir miesto abiturientų informuotumą apie Žemaitijos kolegijos Mažeikių studijų centrą, išsilavinimą bei profesinį bakalaurą. Tyrimui pasirinkti 392 Mažeikių rajono ir miesto abiturientai, kadangi būtent šie žmonės kitais metais papildys universitetų ir kolegijų studentų gretas. Daugiau nei pusė apklaustųjų yra potencialūs būsimi kolegijų studentai, tačiau tik mažumai yra suprantamas skirtumas tarp universitetuose ir kolegijose įgyjamų diplomų, todėl šiuo klausimu reikia daugiau informacijos ne tik mokyklose, bet ir žiniasklaidoje. Apie tai, kad baigus Žemaitijos kolegijos Mažeikių studijų centrą įgyjamas profesinis bakalauras, žinoma labai mažai daliai abiturientų. Mažeikių rajono ir miesto abiturientai beveik nieko nežino apie Telšių apskrityje esančias aukštąsias mokyklas, o dauguma nežino net to, kokie rajonai priklauso Telšių apskričiai. Apie Žemaitijos kolegijoje, Mažeikių studijų centre, galimas įsigyti specialybes abiturientai mažai domėjosi arba yra visai neinformuoti, nes, anot apklaustųjų, mažai reklamos, o ir esama reklama abiturientai nesidomi. Abiturientus labiau vilioja studijos didmiesčiuose, nes, jų nuomone, baigus universitetą lengviau įsidarbinti nei baigus kolegiją, nors dalis studentų teigiamai vertina kolegijose įsigyjamą išsilavinimą.

ENThe article analyses the opinions of school leavers of Mažeikiai District and Mažeikiai Town on specialists trained in Mažeikiai Study Centre and on the outlook of the development of the Centre’s activities. The objective of the study is to explore the awareness of school leavers of Mažeikiai District and Mažeikiai Town of Mažeikiai Study Centre at Žemaitija College, educatin and professional bachelor degree. 392 school leavers of Mažeikiai District and Mažeikiai Town were selected for the study because it is these people who will join the ranks of university and college students next year. More than a half of those surveyed are potential future college students, but only a small share understand the difference between diplomas acquired in universities and colleges; therefore, more information on this issue is needed not only in schools but also in the media. The fact that the professional bachelor degree is acquired after graduating from Mažeikiai Study Centre at Žemaitija College is known to a very small portion of the school leavers. The school leavers of Mažeikiai District and Mažeikiai Town know almost nothing about high schools situated in Telšiai County, and most of them even do not know which districts belong to Telšiai County. The school leavers took little interest in or have no information on the specialities which may be acquired in Žemaitija College, Mažeikiai Study Centre, because, according to those surveyed, there is little advertising and the school leavers are not interested in the currently available advertising. The school leavers are more attracted by studies in major cities because they consider employment chances after graduation from a university to be better than after graduation from a college, although a part of students give a positive assessment to education acquired in colleges.
