Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje aptariamos epistemologijos Vilniaus mokyklos tendencijos, sugretinus su Vakarų empirizmo plėtros faktais, rodo, kad XIX a. Pradžioje Apšvietos filosofija Lietuvoje nebuvo nei anachronistinis, nei epigoniškas reiškinys. Nors ir turėdamos daugybę trūkumų, to meto Vilniaus universiteto profesorių koncepcijos epochos kontekste buvo modernios. Lietuvos teoretikai, kaip ir jų kolegos Lenkijoje bei Vakarų Europoje, tikėjosi harmonizuoti idealizmo ir empirizmo kraštutinumus, rasti "sveikąjį" vidurį, skrupulinga epistemologine-psichologine analize nustatyti, kalbant J. Sniadeckio žodžiais, "pažintinių žmogaus sielos galių" darną ir tuo grįsti universalią, pritaikomą ir tiksliesiems mokslams bei edukacijai filosofiją. Taigi Vilniuje buvo atstovauta maksimalistinių siekių Apšvietos filosofijai. Vilniečiams teoretikams būdinga kūrybinė energija ir maksimalizmas. Šie neabejotini Vilniaus mokyklos bruožai kvestionuoja pirmiausia Lenkijos mokslininkų suformuotą, lig šiol vyraujančią sampratą, kad XIX a. Pradžioje mūsų filosofijoje vegetavo Apšvietos egoizmas.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Lietuvos Lenkijos filosofija; Vilniaus mokykla; Philpsphy of Lithuania and Poland; The Vilnius' school.

ENThe article compares the trends of epistemology in the Vilnius school with the facts of development of the Western empiricism, which shows that in the beginning of the 19th century the Enlightenment philosophy in Lithuania was neither an anachronistic, nor epigonous phenomenon. The concepts of the professors of Vilnius University in the context of the epoch, although they had a good deal of flaws, were modern. Lithuanian theoreticians, as their colleagues in Poland and in the Western Europe, hoped for harmonization of the extremities of idealism and empiricism, for finding a “reasonable” centre, by employing a thorough epistemological – psychological analysis, for establishment, in the words of J. Sniadeckis, “the harmony of cognitive powers of the human soul” and thus, for grounding a universal philosophy, applicable for both exact sciences and education. Therefore Vilnius represented the Enlightenment philosophy of maximalist strivings. Vilnius theoreticians were characterized by creative energy and maximalism. Those traits of the Vilnius school first and foremost questioned the concept that the Enlightenment egoism vegetated in Lithuanian philosophy of the beginning of the 19th century, formulated by Polish scientists, which is in existence till the present times.
