ENAliutė Mečys in the context of German New Realism. Her art is extremely special and German at the same time closely related to the understanding od realism of her days. As she refused to join the movement of New Realism she remained in the margins of large exhibitions and art market. However, her art remains important and it will be acknowledged as it should some day. Her retrospective held in Kaunas – is a step toward her recognition.
