Summary / Abstract:

Be to, XX. a. pradžioje inteligentija siekė natūraliam autentiškam tautiniam šokiui pritaikyti salonams būdingo šokio elementus. Pastaraisiais dešimtmečiais kuriami stilizuoti „tautiniai šokiai“ visiškai prasilenkia su lietuvių choreografinio folkloro ypatybėmis. Kita vertus, autentiškų šokių mokytis sunku, nes gyvoji šokio tradicija beveik išnyko, labai trūksta filmuotos archyvinės medžiagos, todėl šiais laikais tik nedidelė dalis pedagogų yra susipažinę su autentiškomis tradicinio šokio formomis Lietuvoje.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Tradiciniai lietuvių šokiai; Ugdymas; Tradicija; Inovacija; Traditional lithuanian dance; Education; Tradition; Innovation.

ENIn this article the educational function of traditional dance is discussed, overlooking the main tendencies during the last century in different countries. Under the influence of traditional dance revival (which started at the end of 19th - beginning of 20th centuries in Scandinavian countries, then have spread in other European countries) the folk dance was included into educational programmes of secondary schools in England, Scotland, Scandinavia and other European countries. In USA approximately at the same time the traditional dance and game was also used for education, especially as the tool against crime prevention of immigrants. Similarly in Lithuania in the first half of 20th century the folk dance was teached at schools – primarily as the tool of physical training. Though in that time the traditional dances were alive in Lithuanian countryside, but the teachers seldom collected them, they often created new stylized compositions. Folk dance stilizations first appeared even earlier - at the beginning of national movement in the end of 19th century - beginning of 20th century. Such folk dance stilizations were created by intelligentsia which didn't understand the beauty of authentical folk dance and changed it according own taste (basing on so called „ball dance" experience). Creations of staged dances digressed from authenticity especially during the last decades and lost the main features of Lithuanian folk dances. Nevertheless such creations are used for representation of Lithuanian culture, for teaching of „folk dance" in choreographical schools and in secondary schools. On the other hand, now it's almost impossible to fix a real folk dance, because people in countryside stopped to dance, there is a big lack of filmed archival material. That is a reason why nowadays only a very small part of teachers have knowledge about the main features of traditional dance in Lithuania. [From the publication]
