Summary / Abstract:

Regione pastebimi pereinamieji (tranzityviniai) identiteto tipai (binarinis, latentinis, ambivalentiškas). Pakankamai pastovus baltarusų-lenkų-lietuvių regioną formuojančių identitetų pobūdis liudija apie istorinę perspektyvą ir galimybę atkurti etnokultūrą.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Nacionalinis identitetas; Tipologija; Etnokultūrinis pasienis; Etnininis identitetas; Gardino regionas; National identity; Typology; Etnocultural borderland; Grodno region.

ENThe article deals with the specificity of identification processes in the area of Belarusian-Lithuanian-Polish borderlands. Global processes of cross-cultural interactions are explicit here metaphorically as the bridge' and 'the wall' unity. Despite considerable ethnocultural heterogeneity of this area as the result of political factors and historical interrelations of its communities their identities have tendency towards self preservation and self-reproduction. On the basis of the system approach and constructivist method of analysis the plurality and the dynamics of the present-day identities of Belarusians, Lithuanians and Poles are substantiated. There is the evidence of ethno-cultural non-isomorfism in Grodno Region, which is characterized by non-coincidence of the identification and ethnic boundaries. Constant cultural and political interactions between Belarusians, Poles, Lithuanians, and other resulted in variability and hierarchy of the identities of each of them including traditional, primordial, local, national, and state types. The analysis of the situation in Belarusian-Polish-Lithuanian borderlands provides the more complex vision of the typology of identities in this area which are not plane and static, but are presented by configurations of their tendencies. The complexity of identification processes in the region include their transitional types such as dual, latent, ambivalent. The sustainability of the identities of national groups and communities of Belarusian- Polish-Lithuanian borderlands despite the high level of their assimilation and acculturation provide the evidence of the perspectives of their self-reproduction and continuity in history.
