Neoromantinės stilistikos paieškų atspindžiai XX a. pradžios Vilniaus moderno architektų kūryboje

LTStraipsnyje bendrais bruožais apžvelgiama dviejų XX a. pradžios Vilniaus moderno architektūros atstovų Boleslovo Stankevičiaus ir Eduardo Roubos kūrybinio palikimo dalis, kurioje pastebimos bene ryškiausios ir savičiausios neoromantinės stilistikos paieškos, kurias paskatino Rygos ir Sankt Peterburgo moderno mokyklos. Daug dėmesio skiriama XX a. pradžios Vilniaus architektūrinio gyvenimo konteksto nagrinėjimui. Vilnius lyginamas su kaimynės Latvijos Ryga. Gretinant du miestus, norima atskleisti, kodėl šiose kadaise carinės Rusijos imperijai priklausiusiose Pabaltijo valstybių sostinėse vyko gana skirtingi moderno architektūros raidos procesai ir konkrečiais duomenimis pailiustruojama, kokie pagrindiniai istoriniai socialinio, kultūrinio ir ekonominio gyvenimo veiksniai nulėmė šias skirtybes. XX a. pradžioje iki galo neišplėtotą Vilniaus neoromantinį moderną arba "vietinių bruožų" paieškas atspindinčių ryškių pastatų sukurta nedaug. Ieškoti originalių "vietos atspalvio" moderno stilistinių ir kompozicinių architektūros matyt, buvo daug sudėtingiau, nei pritaikyti jau sukurtas standartizuotas kosmopolitinio moderno formas. Architektai buvo veikiami latvių nacionalinio romantizmo bei Sankt Peterburgo šiaurės moderno architektūros. Sumanydami naujus racionalius erdvinius bei originalius stilistinių formų plastinius pastatų sprendimus, jie inspiracijų bei naujų idėjų sėmėsi ir iš Senovės Rytų, Kretos ir Mikėnų architektūros, taikomosios dailės. Retrospektyvinę plastiką interpretuodami moderno stiliaus ribose, įvykdė jos ir moderno architektūrinių dekoratyvinių formų sintezę.

ENThe article outlines the creative heritage of two representatives of modern architecture of Vilnius of the beginning of the 20th century - Boleslovas Stankevičius and Eduardas Rouba, which manifests with the most prominent and peculiar search for the neo-Romanticist style, encouraged by modern schools of Riga and St. Petersburg. Significant attention is dedicated to examination of the context of architectural life in Vilnius at the beginning of the 20th century. Vilnius is compared to Riga, i. e. the capital of the neighbouring Latvia. When comparing two cities, attempts are made to reveal the reasons why quite different processes of development of the modern architecture occurred in two capitals of the Baltic States, which previously belonged to the Russian Empire and, by employing specific data, illustrate the main historic factors of the social, cultural and economic life, which determined such differences. There are not many prominent buildings, reflecting the neo-Romanticist modern style of Vilnius, which was not fully developed at the beginning of the 20th century or the search for “the local traits”. Most likely it was much more difficult to search for original stylistic and compositional architectural solution of the modern style with “the local undertone” than to apply the already developed standardized forms of the cosmopolitan modern style. The architects were influenced by the Latvian national romanticism and the Northern modern architecture of St. Petersburg. When conceiving new rational spatial and plastic building solutions of original stylistic forms, they got inspiration and new ideas from the architecture and fine arts of the Ancient East, the Crete and Mycenae. By interpreting retrospective plastics within the limits of the modern style, they performed a synthesis of the said plastics and decorative forms of the modern architecture.
