Violation of nocoda constraint in word-final syllable: (analysis in English and Lithuanian)

LTTirta koda paskutiniame anglų ir lietuvių kalbų skiemenyje Optimalumo Teorijos plotmėje ( 1397 lietuvių kalbos žodžių paskutiniai skiemenys ir tiek pat anglų kalbos žodžių paskutinių skiemenų). Nustatyta, kad lietuvių kalba pažeidžia universalų kodus nebuvimo principą daug mažiau nei anglų kalba. Šia prasme lietuvių kalba yra mažiau žymėta. Tai rodo, kad kodos nebuvimo ir kompleksinės kodos universalūs suvaržymai gali pasirodyti beesą aukštesnėje suvaržymų hierarchijos pozicijoje lietuvių kalboje nei anglų kalboje, kurioje šis suvaržymas užima žemiausią poziciją. Minėta hierarchija lieluvių kalboje nėra nustatyta, todėl šis gretinamasis tyrimas yra indėlis įjos sudarymą.

ENThe code in the last English and Lithuanian syllable on the plane of the Optimality Theory is examined (last syllables of 1397 Lithuanian words and last syllables of the same number of English words). It was identified that the Lithuanian language violates the universal principle of absence of codas significantly less than the English language does. In this sense the Lithuanian language is less marked, which shows that the universal restrictions of the absence of the coda and the complex coda can appear to be at a higher position in the hierarchy of restrictions in the Lithuanian language than in the English language, in which the restriction occupies the lowest position. The said hierarchy in the Lithuanian language has not been identified therefore such comparative study is a contribution to the formation of the hierarchy.
